It is with my deepest sympathy to his family and friends. As a former Social Studies teacher at Ballou SHS under his umbrella he will be sorely missed.
Mr Royster was a small man but he had a big personality. From 1979-1983 he was a driving force behind my education at Ballou. He would tell us “you are not going to embarrass yourself or this school,so act like you have some self respect and dignity “!
I was saddened last evening when I learned of Bob’s passing. My deepest sympathy to you,Mary, and the family. Bob was one of the school board’s more involved members. He was an idea person with knowledge about education. We spent many hours discussing how to improve our schools.Abbreviated versions of those conversations continued after I had retired and he had left the school board…usually at Midway in the store or garden or when we ran into one another around town. Mary, he will be missed by many. Many prayers for you and the family.
