Robert Wayne McCawley's Obituary
Robert Wayne McCawley, 53, of Orange, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and Friends on Sunday, May 12, 2024. He battled a courageous fight with Cancer. He was born August 26, 1970, in Fairfax, VA to the late Thomas Joseph McCawley III and the late Violet Lee Gray McCawley. He was a graduate of Culpeper County High School.
Robert had a deep passion for fishing and camping. He loved The McCawley Family Cabin, which he made numerous trips to enjoy the Canadian wilderness and some of the best fishing around. He also enjoyed vacationing at The Outer Banks. Robert was a true, dedicated outdoorsman and enjoyed everything Mother Nature had to offer. He was a loving Brother, Uncle and Friend and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Robert is survived by his partner, Cynthia Dawn Rinker; his siblings, Thomas Joseph McCawley IV (Diane), David Charles McCawley (Val), Denise Marie McCawley (Dennis), Lisa Ann Sheppard (Jim), Deanna Lynn McCarty (Kenny), Kathy Michelle McCawley-White (Pat) and Maryanne Christine McCawley.
Robert also had a well-known alias; “Uncle Birdie”. He loved and enjoyed all of his nieces and nephews; Crystal Dillard, Lindsay Williams, Anthony Cangemi Jr, Kimberly Cangemi, Michael McCawley, Eddie McCawley, Carryn St. John, Kendra Knapp, Meaghan Helme, Carey Payne, Matthew Rulapaugh, Chace Coffey, Jacob Rulapaugh, and numerous Great Nieces and Nephews.
The Family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Founds and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Founds and Sons Funeral Chapel with Jojuan White officiating.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 822 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
