Robert E. Lee Jr's Obituary
Robert Edward Lee, Jr, husband, father and grandfather, born January 3, 1941, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 4, 2017. He was the son of the late Robert Edward and Ethel Mae Snellings Lee.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Edward Lee III in 2008.
Robert is survived by his wife of 49 years, Velma Jean Shaver Lee, two sons James Eugene Lee (Carol Olson), and William Alexander Lee (Amy Taylor), two grandchildren, Amber Michelle Lee and Robert Samuel Lee.
Robert was a Civil War enthusiast for many years, participating in reenactments and living history programs as Captain of the Purcell Battery. For many years, Robert participated in the living history program held at Gettysburg National Military Park. He had also belonged to the North/South Skirmish Association.
In later years, one of his most enjoyable activities was taking pictures while driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway with his wife. Also, he enjoyed bluegrass music at the Rex Theater in Galax, VA and the Blue Ridge Music Center.
Robert’s family would like to thank the Capital Caring Hospice staff.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels~Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10 am on Friday, March 10, 2017.
