Robert "Bob" Gerald Hansen's Obituary
Robert “Bob” G. Hansen, 77, of Culpeper died peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. Bob was born August 29, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Roy Christian Hansen and the late Thelma Elizabeth Bang Hansen.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed the beauty of the nature that surrounds us all. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy, retiring as a Senior Chief Electricians Mate were he consulted for the Navy working further with electronical repairs and installations. Bob was genuine caring man who would assist others in their time of need, dedicated to the comradery with his friends and family at the Culpeper American Legion Post 330 having held various officer positions and collateral duties. When he was given a task to perform, he would complete the task above and beyond desired expectations.
Bob is survived by his wife Inge H. Hansen and their daughter Dina Marie May and her husband, Eric of Goochland, four grandchildren, Stefanie MacDonald and her husband, Joshua of Christiansburg, VA, Ashley Lynn Woods of Richmond, VA, Brittany Woods and Tyler May both of Goochland, VA, as well as two great grandchildren Alex and Luke MacDonald of Christiansburg.
He was preceded in death by two siblings.
Funeral service will be held 12pm on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels of Culpeper with Chaplain Johnny Wilson officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be private for the family at Culpeper National Cemetery.
