Robert Wayne Gentry's Obituary
Robert Wayne Gentry, 63, of Rixeyville died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at his residence. He was born January 9, 1950 to Frances Davis of Palmyra and the late John W. Gentry.
Mr. Gentry was owner and operator of Gentry’s Tree and Landscaping for over 45 years. He believed in hard work and was dedicated not only to his family and friends but his lifelong customers. He took pride in his work and family. He also enjoyed hunting, the outdoors and was a member of Culpeper Moose Lodge.
In addition to his beloved mother, he is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 46 years, Joyce Marie Gentry; two children, Robert Wayne Gentry, Jr. and his wife, Tonya and Phillip Jackson Gentry all of Rixeyville; his stepfather, Chester Davis of Palmyra; and five siblings, Pat Brown of Culpeper, Brenda Smoot of San Diego, CA, John Gentry and his wife, Debbie of Locust Grove, Michael Gentry and his wife, Betty of Spotsylvania and Nancy Pace and her husband, Bobby of Palmyra.
Additional survivors include his five grandchildren whom he adored; Kara, Trey, Kameron, Claudia and Jackson who knew him lovingly as “Gung-Gung” as well as one great grandson, Sonny; his father-in-law, Leslie Clatterbuck; three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his niece, Sherry Smoot and brothers-in-law, Pratt Brown and Weston Kennedy, Sr. and mother-in-law, Odell Clatterbuck.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 6 to8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 1 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastors Jay and Melissa Garriss officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Pete Elliot, Mark McKim, Tommy Payne, Weston Kennedy, Les Kennedy and Ryan Kenty.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
