Robert (Bob) John Franey, Jr. of Washington, VA died peacefully in Manassas, VA on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. Bob was born in 1943 in Philadelphia, PA to parents, Nancy C. Tucker and Robert Franey, Sr. He attended Washington-Lee Hig Read Obituary
So sorry to learn of Bob's passing. I first met Bob in our first week as freshmen at Macalester College in 1962. Bob later became something of a campus celebrity as vocalist and guitarist for an excellent folk music group. We both came from the Washington, D.C., area, so we shared several non-stop, bleary-eyed car trips back east for holidays. We stayed in touch for only a few years after college, but during the years we shared he was a good and trusted friend.
Bob was my first counselor at summer camp in 1962..we had wonderful discussions about our favorite football teams..enjoyed catching up with him and his wife Shirley at several camp reunions many years later..so sorry for the Franey family..RIP Bob..Robert Calvarese Naples Florida.
