Robert O'Neal Fairfax's Obituary
Robert O’Neal Fairfax, 68, of Rixeyville died Monday, June 16, 2014 at his residence. He was born November 26, 1945 in Clifton, VA to the late Jesse and Nellie Wetherholtz Fairfax.
Mr. Fairfax was a member of the American Legion for 34 years, currently of the Culpeper American Legion Post 330 where he held various board and officer positions and served on the honor guard.
He is survived by three children, Teresa LaSalle and her husband, Michael of Boston, VA, Robert O’Neal Fairfax, II and his wife, Kimberly of Reva and Candee Fairfax of Culpeper; one sister, Kay Fairfax and Freeman “Butter” Cave of Culpeper; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Erin, Aden, Storee LaSalle and Cody, Sammy and Ethan Fairfax; and his companion and “little woman”, Linda Fields.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Fairfax; and three siblings, Gary Andes, David Fairfax and Earl Fairfax.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow in Clifton Cemetery in Fairfax at 2 pm.
Pallbearers named are; Justin Gardner, Jay Buckley, Trevor Rollison, Timothy Johns, Daniel LaSalle, Freeman Cave, Bobby Johns III and Willie Owens. Honorary pallberers named are; Bill Gray, Danny Goolsby, Jerry "Hammer"Mcintyre and Everett Lawhorne.
The family would like to thank Robert’s “Dutch Hollow Road friends and neighbors” for their support over the years. A special thank you to Everett and Dottie Lawhorne for checking in and sharing home cooked meals and garden pickings.
