Robert Dulaney Dovell's Obituary
Robert Dulaney Dovell, 76, of Bealeton, VA passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024 at his residence. He was born April 15, 1948 to the late Richard Dulaney and Sadie Irene Dovell.
Bob served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. During his tour, Bob was awarded the Navy Unit Commendation Medal twice, Vietnam Service Medal twice, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. After the service, Bob became a Drywall Mechanic where he worked for around 50 years. Bob was an honorary member at The Journey Church. He enjoyed being a T-Ball coach for his children and the Cookie Dad for his daughter’s Girl Scout troop. Bob was an avid bowler and was on a Bowling League in Warrenton, VA.
Bob is survived by his wife, Ella M. Dovell; children, Jamie Dovell (Amber), Robyn Hayzlett (Danny), and Jessica Allen; sister, Shelia Madison; twelve grandchildren, Faith, Jonathan, Makayla, Kody, Madison, Grace, Kacee, Haley, James, Hannah, Calliope, and Jameson; and a host of additional family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his son, Little Bobby; and brothers, Donnie, Johnny, and Ricky.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, 4160 Rixeyville Road, Jeffersonton, VA 22724, with Pastor Kevin Dawson officiating.
Pallbearers serving the family will be Jamie Dovell, Danny Hayzlett, Dustin Dawson, Terry Streightoff, Jerry Settle, and Tony Fincham, Jr.
