Robert Dale Burget
Robert Dale Burget passed away on October 13, 2008 in Fairfax, Virginia.
He was born in Lima, Ohio to the late Ernest and Bessie Burget on June 29, 1924.
Robert left home at age 17 and served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific theatre with the 4th Marine Division. After the War, he earned a bachelor's degree from Ohio Northern University and started working as a Revenue Agent for the Internal Revenue Service. In the early 1960's he served on a 4 year tour across the Middle East as an auditor for the US State Department USAID program. After returning to the States in 1967 he continued his lifelong dedication to public service with his career as a Special Agent for the IRS Intelligence Division. He retired from the IRS Criminal Investigation Division in 1985 in McAllen, Texas.
Survivors include his loving wife Victoria; three sons, Bruce Burget and his wife
Nicole of Upper Marlboro MD., Robert D. Burget Jr. of San Leandro, California, and Daniel D. Burget and his wife Laura of Bristow, Virginia.; two daughters, Diana Doseck of Huber Heights, Ohio, and Linda M. Kopetzky and her husband Jon of Tenino, Washington; eleven grandchildren, Shawn, Monique, Shane, Travis, Allison, Jill, Monica, Emily, Justin, Christiana and Anna; six great grandchildren, Madison, Ethan, Carly, Cassy, Michael and Lauren.
A memorial service will be held Monday October 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Culpeper United Methodist Church, where he was a member. A military honor guard and graveside service will be held on Tuesday October 21, 2008 at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, Virginia, 22172. The Rev. Norma Jean Fellows and Ms. Nancy Palmer will conduct the services. Flowers may be sent to Culpeper United Methodist church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Culpeper United Methodist Church, 1233 Oaklawn Drive, Culpeper, Virginia 22701
