Roanna Kathryn Hill's Obituary
Roanna Kathryn “RoRo” Hill, 12, of Spotsylvania County, passed away trying to save her grandmother, Carol Hill, during a house fire that claimed both of their lives on Monday, January 12, 2015.
RoRo was a wonderful child with many interests. Although she and her family were new to the Spotsylvania area, RoRo quickly made friends at her new school, and was involved with many activities. She loved dancing and singing in chorus, hanging out with friends, social media, putting on make-up and jewelry. She recently learned to swim and loved to spend time in the water.
RoRo leaves behind her parents, Andrew and Victoria Hill; and two brothers, Tyler and Joshua, all of Spotsylvania; her grandmother, Carol Champagne of Pennsylvania; three uncles, Shawn Hill and his wife, Jennifer of Stanardsville, Andrew McNamara, and Gordon Champagne, both of Pennsylvania; four aunts, Christine Cohn of New York, Arcella McNamara of Pennsylvania, Tiffany Crotty of Hayes, and Linda Collins of Richmond; five great-aunts and uncles, Judith Batsel of Florida, Ginny Burnett and her husband, Tom, Mark Heles and his wife, Beverly, and John Heles, all of South Carolina, and John Hill and his wife, Barbara Hill of California; a niece, Graceyn Hill; a nephew, Ryan Hill; as well as numerous cousins and many other family members and close friends.
A funeral service to celebrate Roanna’s and her grandmother’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Fredericksburg Expo Center, 2371 Carl D. Silver Pkwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. Roanna’s family will receive guests one hour prior to the service at the Expo Center. Burial will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
