in honor of Ricky.
Ricky was a devoted grandfather and great grandfather. I saw this devotion in action. For several years, before his granddaughter, Kayla, got her license, he faithfully brought her (and her young son) to Young Lives club meetings where I am a mentor/leader. Toward the end of many evenings, he would stroll in and surprise his great grandson, Levi, with a big "hello" or a funny growl. Levi would always run to him in delight. He would get on the floor of the nursery and play with little Levi; it was such a sight. Kayla and Levi blossomed because of the support of this kind man. It was a privilege to know him, if even briefly. God bless you, Ricky!
