Rickie Jaye Rutherford, Jr.'s Obituary
Rickie Jaye Rutherford, Jr., 28, of Culpeper died Monday, August 1, 2016. He was born January 6, 1988 in Culpeper to Bridgette Scott and the late Rickie Rutherford, Sr.
Rickie loved sports especially wrestling and football. He was the 2002 MVP for the Culpeper Cougars football team where he sported #24, making it a legend. He was also a championship roller-skater.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Chase Allyn of Culpeper; nine siblings, Christopher Painter, Casey Rutherford, Brina Meadows, Garrick Rutherford, Taya Rutherford, Tyler Rutherford, Lauren Rutherford, Joseph Rutherford and Haley Mullins; his maternal grandmother, Ola Mae Scott Hume and her husband, Larry; maternal grandfather, Gene Scott; paternal grandmother, Dyanne Holt and her husband, Jim; paternal grandfather, Jack Rutherford and his wife, Wanda; and his special “MaMaw” Carrie Harris.
Additional survivors include his aunts and uncles, Dwayne Scott and his wife, Angie, Kenneth Scott, Sr. and his wife, Cassandra, Melissa Webb and her husband, Gary, Greg Scott and his wife, Ranee, Gene Scott, Jr., Chrissy Scott, Jackie Rutherford, Melissa Yancey and her husband, Billy, Ashley Rutherford and David.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his beloved “Dabba” Buck Harris; his dear friend, Freddie Jenkins and special friend, Etta Jane Smoot.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Rev. Ron Young officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be private for the family at a later date.
