Richard Edward Robinson, Sr.'s Obituary
Richard Edward Robinson, Sr., 63, of Rixeyville died Friday, April 10, 2009 at his residence. He was born April 19, 1945 in Culpeper County to the late John Richard Robinson and the late Mary Frances Lee Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was known for his love of gardening, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley M. Brown Robinson, his children, Arlene Whitmer and her husband, William, Rebecca Robinson and Richard Edward Robinson, Jr. Additional survivors include a brother, William Robinson, Sr. and four sisters, Pearl Jackson and her husband, Robert, Laura Butler and her husband, Henry, Susie Hunter and her husband, John, and Marie Moore and her husband, Glen.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, Shelicea Minor and her husband, Terrance, Matthew Whitmer, Shenay Whitmer, and Travis Thompson, and one great-grandchild, Nevaya Webster.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers, John Robinson, Sr., Douglas Robinson, Sr., Charles Lewis Robinson, Sr., Melvin Hackley and Robert Jackie Robinson, Sr., and two sisters, Mary Frances Jones and Lucille Haskins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 12 noon in the Found and Sons chapel with Rev. Reese Washington officiating.
Interment will follow at Good Hope Cemetery on Norman Road.
Pallbearers will be William Whitmer, Ronald Johnson, William Rector, Douglas Robinson, Jr., Anthony Thacker, and Lamont, Elliott and David Butler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Jenkins, Edward Lee, Sr., James Smith, Jr. and Sylvester Banks.
