Richard Melvin Young's Obituary
Richard M. Young, age 79, passed away from a long illness on April 7, 2010. H spent years in the Navy as a young man in 1947, he progressed to the rank of Master Chief in his early 30’s before he retired in 1968. He joined the civilian service for the Department of Navy with his work in
Telecommunications and Secure voice systems. He finally retired from Washington life in 1985. He enjoyed retirement life working in his garden, puttering around his woodworking shop and enjoying his family and his new grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Patricia M. Young of 54 years, his daughters, Linda M. Layne of Stafford, April J. young of Bealeton, Nadine L. Clark of Bealeton, Grandchildren, Katie Layne Rowe and husband, Anthony Rowe of Indiana, Talan M. Clark of Bealeton. He was a great, sweet loving Man who will be greatly missed in body, but cherished in Memory. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 10:00 at Found and Sons Lee Funeral Chapel, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas, VA 20109. A committal service will be at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Quantico National Cemetery.
