Richard Lee Reichert Sr.'s Obituary
Richard Lee Reichert Sr. went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, June 20, 2025.
He was born March 5, 1946 to Lester and Dorothy (Mackey) Reichert. He grew up in Dolphin County, Pennsylvania. After high school he attended DeVry Technical Institute. He retired from IBM with over 25 years of service. He then furthered his education to become a master electrician and began working for Fairfax County Schools as a supervisor until retiring for a second time.
Richard was actively involved with the Zion Methodist Church in Spotsylvania Courthouse, including being a trustee and Lay Leader. He was a Melvin Jones award winning Lions Club International member and held many officer positions throughout the years. Richard was an avid NASCAR fan and attended many race tracks with family and friends. He and his wife also enjoyed playing Mr. & Mrs. Claus for many organizations.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Amy; his devoted companion, Jasper; his children, Paul, Patti (Corey), Elizabeth (James), David (Kristi), and Richard Jr. (Stacey); step-children, Wesley, Billy (Mitzi), Shelby, and Sherri; and his extended family included grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lester and Dorothy Reichert; sister, Nancy; brother-in-law, Jeffrey; stepson, Kenneth; and step-grandson, Jason.
There will be a celebration of life at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday August 2, 2025 at Zion United Methodist Church in Spotsylvania Courthouse. Following the service, we will gather for a small luncheon in the fellowship hall.
