Richard Nelson Perry III's Obituary
It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Richard Nelson Perry III, age 43 of Partlow, Virginia. He was welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, February 17, 2025.
Richard was born on March 10, 1981 to Maribeth Perry and the late Richard Nelson Perry, Jr. He attended Stafford County public schools and enjoyed wrestling and playing football. He also learned the masonry trade. After high school, Richard worked as an HVAC mechanic, an auto mechanic and was a loving caregiver for his mother for the past 15 years.
Richard and his wife met when they were 16 and truly had a love like no other, he was her sugar bear! They married on February 28, 2010. Richard was a dedicated family man and devoted his life to them, sometimes working two and three jobs at a time to ensure that he provided for their needs! When Richard became a father, it was truly what gave him purpose. He loved his sons very much and would go to the end of the Earth to see them happy.
Richard never met a stranger and lived life to the fullest everyday! He had a selfless, gentle, genuine demeanor, an amazing ability to make you smile when it seemed impossible to do so and his willingness to offer a helping hand are just a few of the qualities that he had that made him a treasured person to many!
Richard was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved driving his 5.0 mustang, grilling out, fishing, riding 4 wheelers, playing lottery tickets, celebrating the 4th of July (his favorite holiday) and spending time with those closest to him.
In addition to his mother, Maribeth, he will be remembered, honored and cherished by his wife, Bethany Perry; his sons, Richard Nelson Perry IV and Levi James Perry; his mother-in-law, Nancy Jones; his sisters-in-law, Rebecca O'Neill and Lori Thomasson; his brothers-in-law, Marvin Jones Jr, Todd Perkins and Stephen O'Neill; his nieces that he adored greatly, Sydni, Eliana, Marlee and Brinley O'Neill; his great nephew, Jayce Taylor; his stepmother-in-law, Charlotte Damrow; his stepbrothers-in-law, Jeffrey Damrow (Amanda) and Nathan Damrow (Tara); his stepfather-in-law, Marvin Jones Sr; Richard's best friends for over 27 years who were also like brothers to him, Robert Foubare and John Stevens; Paul Stevens, who he affectionately called his nephew; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended family and dear friends will also greatly miss and remember Richard always.
