Richard Lee Oliver Sr.'s Obituary
On May 4, 2021 Richard Lee Oliver, Sr., 59, went to be with the Lord at his home in King George, VA.
He was an amazing man who cared for others and would do anything for you. For fun, he loved to go to be with his family and spend time with his beloved dog, Charlie. They would always be together especially during food times. He loved all of his children and grandchildren. He always wanted them to be happy and make sure he was a part of their lives. He loved all of his family with all of his heart. He also enjoyed watching his Redskins or as we call them now The Washington Football Team.
Richard was a cab driver for 30 years for Hildrup and Virginia Cab. He loved driving people and meeting people. It was something he enjoyed and he could always tell you how to get somewhere.
Richard is survived by his wife of 26 years that he loved dearly, Melissa Oliver of King George; his children, Jeffrey Chinault of Spotsylvania, Cheryl Oliver (Travis) of Partlow, Tiffany Carter (Brandon) of Beaverdam, Richard Oliver, Jr. of King George, and Stacie Hough (Nicholas) of Manassas; his many grandchildren that he loved so much, Andrew Carter, Kaylynn Oliver, Justin Carter, Anthony Carter, Michael Harding, Savannah Harding, and Addison Hough; niece, Tracey Abbott of Spotsylvania; and his cousins, Kennith Burke (Tammy) of Fredericksburg, and Diane Cash of Cohoes, NY.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Stanley; his father, Theodore “Teddy” Oliver; his grandmothers, Virginia Rodgers and Mildred Williams; and his sisters-in-law, Janice Sweyart and Judith Abbott.
Richard’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
