Richard Lee McCartney's Obituary
Richard Lee McCartney, 48, formerly of Fairfax County and Colonial Beach, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017.
Richard was in a terrible car accident on Christmas Day in 2006. The accident left him disabled with a severe traumatic brain injury, amputations, and deafness.
He served in the United States Navy during the Gulf War. Richard was extremely smart and talented. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing games, singing karaoke, and he was a wiz with anything electronic and made his career as a computer programmer.
Richard is survived by his two sons, Michael Calvin McCartney and Charles Joseph McCartney; his mother, Darline McCartney; sister, Jeanette Lynn McCartney; niece, Ashley Lohr; nephews, Timothy and Christopher Lohr; and numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Joseph McCartney, Jr.
Richard was a very loving, kind, and generous father, son, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
