Richard Allen Hess' Obituary
Richard Allen Hess, 55, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024.
Richard is survived by his parents, Cecil and Ella Hess; his sisters, Amanda Halverson (Kevin) and Kama Havens (Jeff); nephews, Owen and Aaron Halverson; aunt, Phyllis Turner; uncle, Michael Turner; lifelong best friend, William Burns; and girlfriend, Kelly Hilton. Richard also leaves behind an extended family of cousins and many dear friends.
Those who knew Richard best will remember him as a kind, loving person with a big heart, who could be both charming and at times, challenging. His sense of humor, often goofy and unpredictable, brought laughter to many.
Growing up, Richard’s passion for music was evident. As a teenager, he immersed himself in playing drums and listening to rock ‘n’ roll. His love of music was ever-present, filling the house with the sounds of classic rock as he practiced his drums and discovered new favorites.
Richard faced significant challenges in his adult life due to mental illness. His view of the world was unique, shaped by his struggles and by the strength he drew from his faith in God. Though he could be stubborn and sometimes find it difficult to navigate life’s obstacles, he was also fiercely loyal and protective of the people he loved.
A man of strong religious faith, Richard believed deeply in God and the teachings of the Bible. His spiritual connection was a central part of his life, offering him comfort and strength during difficult times.
Richard will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
The family will receive visitors at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Fredericksburg on Friday, November 15, 2024, at noon, with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 pm.
