Richard Renay Fillings' Obituary
Richard Renay Fillings, 63, of Culpeper passed on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the University of VA Medical Center. He was born July 5, 1950 in Maryland to Ruth G. Fillings and the late Calvin C. Fillings of Minnesota.
Richard was a graduate of Catonsville High School in Maryland. He was a left handed pitcher for the Madison Blue Jays baseball team and was a member of Linn Banks Masonic Lodge #126. Richard was the founder of Madison Cabinets and Countertops. He was proud of his current employment as Special Process Manager at EuroComposites Corporation of Culpeper.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Brenda Fillings; one daughter, Robin Robinson and her husband, Lonnie; two grandchildren, A.J. Robinson and Alexandra Robinson, all of Odenton, MD; his mother and father- in-law, Hollis and Jean McDaniel of Madison, VA and their children; Donna Strickler of Manassas, VA and Debbie McDaniel of Palmyra, VA. He is also survived by four siblings, Mary Martha Fillings Gardner of Las Vegas, NV, Jackie Lessig of Forest Hill, MD, Brian Fillings of Dunnellon, FL and Kevin Fillings of Holiday, FL.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Pastor Kate Costa officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be providing a collection box for donations at the reception immediately following the service. On Rich’s behalf, all proceeds will be going to the Relay for Life in hopes that future generations only know of cancer as an eradicated disease.
