Richard Allen “Buddy” Brown
Richard Allen “Buddy” Brown, 77, of Sperryville died Monday, December 5, 2016 at his residence. He was born October 27, 1939 in Sperryville to the late Paul and Mamie Schwartz Brown.
Mr. Brown worked at Rappahannock Electric for over 45 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend and always had a joke to tell.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Brown; two children, Charles Brown and his wife, Sherry of Sperryville, and Melissa Brown and her fiancé, Clyde Long of Culpeper; four grandchildren, Angela Brown and her fiancé, Timothy Martin of Culpeper, Shadow Jenkins of Sperryville, Darius and Derrick Long, both of Sperryville; three step grandchildren, Christopher, Michael and Courtney King; and two great grandchildren, Hailey and Riley Martin, both of Culpeper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Brown.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jon Heddleston officiating.
Interment will follow in Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Christopher King, Michael King, Timothy Martin, Chris Ralls, Dwayne Jenkins and Roy Pullen. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Curry, Henry “Eddie” Gore and Hunter Grigsby.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the family, c/o Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
