Richard Milton Berry of Fredericksburg passed away at Mary Washington Hospital on October 17, 2010 at the age of 90. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nettie Carver Berry; his parents, Caroline and Henry Berry of Conne Read Obituary

I am a friend of Dick's daughter Shirl Brotherton. Having known Dick since 1963, I can certainly say he was "quite the gentleman" who adored his wife and family. He was always a joy to be around and was always kind and caring. My prayers are wish his family.

Honorable, distinguished without pretense, loving ,lovable,witty, happy, friendly, intelligent.
These are just a smidgen of his attributes. Everytime I saw him he reminnded me of my father, and how much I miss him as now I will miss Uncle Dicks presence but never his spirit or his effect on my life. Now he lives forever with all those who left before him but I believe they are all together again, what a family.
I had the pleasure of meeting Uncle Dick at my wedding. He was on the dance floor all night and had a real energy to him. He was a wonderful person to talk to and for the short time that I spent with him, he really made a lasting impression. On my wedding day, he gave me a name tag that was his wife's. It says, "Mrs. Berry" on it. He said to me, "Now that you are a Berry, this is for you." He shared some amazing and inspiring words and I will have fond memories of him forever.
My favorite memory of Uncle Dick was his infectious laughter, especially when he got together at a family reunion in Connecticut, Rhode Island, or New Jersey with his brother, Robert Berry, and sister, Nancy Carabillo and all of their family members. Those of us who were their children will always remember them laughing so hard that they had to hold each other up. He was a delightful man and we always enjoyed his visits.
