Rhonda Rebold Faychak's Obituary
Rhonda Rebold Faychak passed from this world on July 10, 2024 from complications of early onset Alzheimer's.
She was born March 20, 1964 in Huntington, West Virginia to Doris Imogene Porter, and was adopted by her loving parents Edward Rebold and Bessie Torok Rebold.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Paige Catherine Faychak.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Robert Michael Faychak; daughter, Caroline Elizabeth Faychak; aunt, Martha Torok; and many cousins, half siblings, nieces and nephews.
Rhonda dedicated her adult life to teaching. She received her undergraduate degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and graduate degree from the University of Virginia. During her years of teaching, Rhonda touched the lives of numerous children in Westmoreland, Essex, and Spotsylvania counties in Virginia. She most recently retired from Battlefield Elementary School in Fredericksburg, Virginia in 2022. Teaching was her passion and calling, through which she taught children to read, a lifelong love of hers.
Rhonda brought joy to so many because of her infinite compassion and love for others. She was a joyful and kind soul. Many remember her infectious laugh, bright smile, and one-liners. She was a leader in all aspects of her life having mentored many new teachers. Her independence and resourcefulness influenced not only her students, but her loving daughter Caroline.
Rhonda left this life under the care of her husband and daughter and caregivers from the Mary Washington Hospice team. The family wants to thank her healthcare providers and hospice caregivers for their excellence and compassion.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg.
Separate arrangements are being made for visitation and memorial services in Pennsylvania with interment at Mount Vernon Cemetery in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Rhonda's name to the Alzheimer's Association or Mary Washington Hospice.
