Rebecca Earle Weaver Mitchell's Obituary
Rebecca Earle Weaver Mitchell, 97, died Sunday, September 10, 2017, at The Culpeper, where she had made her home in recent years.
Earle was born July 8, 1920, in Madison County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Audie Lee Weaver and Lucy Jane Curtis Weaver. She was also preceded in death by Frank E Mitchell Jr., her beloved husband of 51 years; daughters Nancy Kaye and Rebecca Lynn Mitchell; a brother Atwell Lewis Weaver; sister Rachel Frances Weaver Pullen; and sister-in-law Eloise Johnson Weaver.
Earle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all, and was a member of Culpeper Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed the company of her friends and loved ones. Earle was a wonderful cook and a gifted seamstress, as many will remember her from The White Shop in Culpeper.
Survivors include son, Frank Everette Mitchell, (Laura), of Dover, New Hampshire; daughter, Deborah Mitchell Diehl (Fred), of Arvada, Colorado; brothers, Verginius Eugene Weaver; Curtis Lee Weaver (Betty); Delma Jackson Weaver (Brenda); sisters, Alieze Weaver Birkett (Ernest); Mildred Ruth Weaver Scheer; grandchildren Tanner F Diehl (Laura); Caitlin Diehl Garcia (Justin); Jonathan Patrick Mitchell; great-grandchildren Ronin Garcia, Camden Diehl; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the name of Earle Mitchell to The Culpeper Benevolent Fund, P. O. Box 191, Culpeper, Virginia 22701, or to the charity of one’s choice.
The family would like to express their thanks and deep gratitude to the caregivers and staff of The Culpeper, and Hospice of the Piedmont, for the kindness and loving care given to her. You are all very special people to us.
