Raymond Eugene 'Fuzz' Brown's Obituary
Raymond Eugene “Fuzz” Brown, age 78 of Culpeper, Virginia, went home to be with his Lord on January 2, 2009.
Mr. Brown was born in Culpeper County, September 22, 1930 to John Henry and Jane Belle Brown. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW and American Legion. He loved fishing as a hobby, his dog Buster Ray Brown, and working along his pastor and friend, Rev. Charles Shifflett as an Elder and dedicated member of the First Baptist church of Culpeper. He served as an usher and devoted visitor. His cheerful, “How ya’ durin?” will be greatly missed.
Surviving Mr. Brown are his wife, Marie Settle Brown, his five children, Bonnie Payne (Cary), Pamela Peterson (Fred), Brenda Rhodes, Donna Jo Hitt (Donnie) and Kimberly Brown (John Kerr), stepsons, D. Lee Hitt (Mary Lou) and Wayne Hitt (Terry) and his siblings Beatrice Brown Gulas, Mary Lee Brown Southard and Virginia Brown Kincer.
Mr Brown is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael and Mitchell Payne, Rob Fox, Jason Smith, Jeremy and Britton Hitt, Andrew Geer and several great grandchildren, as well as his step-granddaughters Cassie Hatcher and Deena Hitt and step-grandson Paul Hitt and several step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Jane, his first wife Thelma Elizabeth Brown, his son Ronald Eugene Brown, and Granddaughter Tonia Elizabeth Mayes and several siblings.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 6, 2009 at 11:00am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Pastor Russell Jenkins Officiating. Visitation 1 hour prior. Interment at Culpeper National Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post 330 and VFW Post 2524.
The pallbearers will include Michael and Mitchell Payne, Adrian Hatcher, Jeremy and Britton Hitt and Paul Hitt. Honorary pallbearers will include David Brooks, Ronnie Dennis, Frank Dowdy, David Jenkins and Jason Smith.
