This is a hard one to write. Ray was one of a kind. A gentle bear of a man I considered one of my closest friends. We shared so many laughs, golf, and a love of music. Will never forget his songbird voice ;) and genuine love for his soulmate, Pauline. He was a model husband we all learned from. I know he’s in Heaven making the angels smile. Love you and miss you buddy. See you when I get there.
My heart is broken. Ray and I have been friends and colleagues for a long time. We played golf together from time to time. I enjoyed those days with him. He was always there for me. When I had a problem at work, and I mean a serious emergency, he would stop what he was doing to help me every time. I cant count the number of times he rescued us. And it wasn't because it was his job or he got paid to do it. Sometimes I didn't even see a bill. It was because that's the kind of man he was. Always helpful, always smiling and laughing and always sincere! I miss him and he will leave a hole in my heart till we meet again! Rest easy my friend! All my love and support goes out to Pauline, his family and the team at Freeland Engineering!
I did not know Ray long, but it was long enough to recognize him for the truly extraordinary person he was. He was friendly, compassionate, considerate and genuine. I never left an interaction with him without a smile on my face and the hope to see him again. His life story and beautiful relationship with Pauline is inspirational. I offer my condolences to the family and all that knew him. He will be sorely missed.
