Raymond Earl Cottle's Obituary
Raymond Earl Cottle passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 11, 2024. He’d recently celebrated his 90th birthday with his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughters. He was born April 10, 1934 to Delmas Cottle and Annie King Cottle in Duplin, North Carolina.
Although Raymond lived in Northern Virginia a majority of his life, he always thought of North Carolina as home. He loved his family and lived life to the fullest. He was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Fredericksburg, Virginia and until a few years ago volunteered for many mission trips. He was the true definition of a giver and helper.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Eleanor Batchelor Cottle; his daughter, Alisa Kim Cottle Halwachs (Jim); granddaughters, Lindsey King (Tom), and Kimberly Davison (Matt); and his brother, Freddie Cottle (Sue). Special to Raymond are his brother-in-law, DF Batchelor and sister-in-law, Norma N. Batchelor. He loved his family dearly including all the numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Cottle Brown.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Bethel Presbyterian Church, 1640 Jackson Store Road, Beulaville, NC, 28518 (Lyman). Graveside service will be private.
