Ray David Rinker's Obituary
Ray David Rinker, 91, of Rockville, MD died Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Village of Rockville. He was born July 5, 1922 in Washington, DC to the late Charles and Lula Weatherholtz Rinker.
Mr. Rinker lived 20 years of his life in Woodbridge, then 20 years in Moneta, VA and was living the past 11 years in Rockville where he was called home to be with the Lord. He worked at the Washington Naval Yard until its closure in 1962. He later worked at the GSA Warehouse in Springfield and finished his career at the David Taylor Model Basin in Carderock, MD. He loved to tinker and spend time at home with his family. Mr. Rinker will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
He is survived by three sons; David Lee Rinker of Culpeper, Keith Albert Rinker of Gulfport, MS and Richard Edward Rinker of Huddleston, VA; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Reeves Rinker; and his siblings, Guy E. Rinker, Charles L. Rinker, Celia L. Rinker, Bessie M. Bowman, Grace R. Bupp, and Emmiline V. Kerns.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 11 am at the Resurrection Lutheran Church, 6201 Washington Blvd, Arlington VA 22205 with Rev. Dr. Scott S. Ickert officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in National Memorial Park in Falls Church.
