Ralph M. Andes' Obituary
Ralph Maphis Andes, 90, of Culpeper died Sunday, January 20, 2013 at his residence. He was born September 13, 1922 in Bealeton to the late Willard and Ora Hollar Andes.
Mr. Andes was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of Bible Baptist Church. He loved to grow and share goods from his garden and enjoyed going to church. He loved to joke and laugh and if out in public he was known by his favorite phrase, “Is it on the house?”
He is survived by three children; Patricia Andes, Tommy Andes and Susan Wilson and her husband, Mike all local to the area; five siblings; Evelyn Jett, Ethel Groves, June Critzer, Fern Banks and Lawrence Andes; six grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and special friends, the Yancey’s, the Woodward’s and Argie Andes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Lee Andes and six siblings, Clifford, Norman, Christian, Nelson, Gerald and Kanella Andes.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bruce Fincham officiating.
Interment will follow in Midland Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Midland where he will join his wife.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
