Rachel A. Garlem's Obituary
Rachel Amon Garlem, age 91, of Manassas, formerly of Falls Church, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2011.
Rachel was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 25, 1919 to the late Arthur and Eva Gifford. She was married in 1954 to her beloved husband, the late Robert R. Amon. In 1954 they moved to Falls Church, VA. She went to work as a security analyst for Analytic Services, Inc. (ANSER) in Arlington. After retiring in 1984, Rachel enjoyed golfing with her family and friends.
Survivors include three daughters, Debra Armstrong, Dianne Fallon and husband, Patrick, Cynthia Ravella and husband, Dennis; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Rachel was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and William Gifford and a husband, Frederick Garlem.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Found and Sons Lee Funeral Chapel, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas, VA 20109. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 10:30 AM at All Saints Catholic Church in Manassas, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas, VA 20110. Interment will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 1501 NW 9th Ave., Miami, FL 33136.
