Quinchelle Joy Butler's Obituary
Harvey Martin Dwyer, 87, of Culpeper died Monday, October 2, 2006 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. He was born on July 14, 1919 in Fauquier, VA to the late Ellis Martin Dwyer and Mary Katherine Weimer Dwyer.
Mr. Dwyer worked for Rochester Corp. as a forklift operator for thirty seven years. After retirement, he went to work as a security guard for the Virginia Department of Transportation for ten years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 330 and VFW Post 2524. In his earlier years he enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman but throughout his life, Mr. Dwyer was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty seven years, Lorraine Marjorie Dwyer of Culpeper, his children, Betty Lou Dwyer of Fredericksburg, Roger Lee Dwyer, Sr. of Pennsylvania, and Richard Harvey Dwyer and his wife, Pamela of Culpeper, three grandchildren, Mary Catherine Batton and her husband, Christopher, Cheryl Marie James and Roger Lee Dwyer, Jr., and one great granddaughter, Amber Batton.
Additional survivors include his siblings, Marie Lewis, Albert Dwyer, Veda Mason, Dorothy Kline, Agnes Berry, and Josephine Johnson.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Martin Dwyer, and siblings, Isabelle Brantley, Ethel Dwyer, Homer Dwyer, and Julia Sherman.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 5, 2006 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Midland Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be William Jacobs, Mike Scott, Scott Smith, Roy Seale, Larry Dwyer, Jr., and Chris Batton.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Legion Post 330 and VFW Post 2524, P.O. Box 122, Culpeper, VA 22701, &/or the Culpeper Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 731, Culpeper, VA 22701.
