Prentice Lee Ralston Jr's Obituary
Prentice Lee Ralston, Jr., 66, of Spotsylvania County passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at his home.
Prentice graduated from Newport News Apprentice School where he excelled at high school, collegiate football, wrestling and track. He worked for 15 years at Alfred Teves in Culpeper and 17 years at Hanover Manufacturing where he held two patents for extruding process.
Prentice was an avid hunter and he liked the outdoors. He was a sports memorabilia collector, a diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees and Daryl Waltrip.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jackie; a son, Rob Ralston; and a daughter, Lee Ann Darnell and her husband, Chris, all of Spotsylvania; two brothers, Samuel D. Ralston and his wife, Linda of Waynesboro and Gary W. Ralston of Calf Mountain; two sisters, Charlene B. Ralston of Waynesboro and Patricia R. Wood and her husband, Lertie of Staunton; five grandsons, Michael and Evan Darnell, and Robbie, Jack and Mason Ralston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Prentice’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Prentice’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 1718, Spotsylvania, VA 22553.
