Powell Leroy Merryman's Obituary
Powell Leroy Merryman, 78, of Culpeper died on Friday, April 5, 2019 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. He was born April 21, 1940, to the late Sherman and Della Mae Cox Merryman.
Powell is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia; two children, Donna Lynn Merryman (Mark Alther) and Donald Wayne Merryman; three brothers, Richard Merryman (Judy), Sherman Merryman (Bonnie), and Alvin Merryman (Margie); three sisters, Janet Gillespie, Roberta Atkins, and Margaret Jenkins (George): granddaughter, Amanda Carter (Cory); great grandchildren, Ryker and Chase Carter. Other survivors include a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; William and Johnny Merryman; and two brothers-in-law; Ray Gillespie and Henry Atkins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
