Phyllis Keyser Atkins' Obituary
Phyllis Keyser Atkins, 61, of Culpeper, died Friday, August 17, 2007 at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia. She was born August 9, 1946 in Front Royal, Virginia to Donald Leroy Keyser and the late Nellie Mae Cameron Keyser.
Mrs. Atkins was a devoted wife and mother who was known for her outgoing spirit and the can-do attitude with which she fought her long battle with cancer. She loved the outdoors and her home, and she always looked out for the underdog.
Including her father Donald L. Keyser, she is survived by her husband of 38 years, John M. Atkins, , two sons, Duane Eddie Atkins and his wife, Rebecca, and Darrell Marshall Atkins and his partner, Ryan, and a daughter, Daphne Dawn Archilla, and her husband, Juan. Additional survivors include three brothers, Donald Keyser of Washington, VA, Lee Keyser of Huntley,Virginia, and Leroy Keyser of Dale City, and two sisters, Candy Ellis of Luray and Michelle McFarland of Bristow.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, Christopher Brian Romine, Darrell Austin Clark, Alex Duane Fincham and her step-mother, Pam Keyser.
The family will receive friends On Monday August 20,2007from 7:00-8:30 P.M at Found and Sons Chapel 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Va.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Washington Baptist Church in Washington, Virginia, with Rev. John K. Burke officiating.
Interment will follow in the Washington Masonic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alvin Grigsby, Thomas Atkins, Ryan Harrison, Juan Archilla, Leroy Keyser and Lynn Atkins.
