Phyllis Ann Patton's Obituary
Phyllis Ann Dye Patton passed away on May 14, 2023 at her home. She was born in Fredericksburg on February 3, 1934 to Jesse Fitzhugh Dye and Sadie Maitland Timmons Dye.
Phyllis graduated from Stafford High School where she was a cheerleader. At the age of 16 she started her career as a beautician eventually having her own salon in the basement of her home, Phil's Beauty Salon. She was an active member of Fredericksburg Baptist Church, a member of the National Cosmetologist Association and a member of the Jr. Woman's Club where she served as president, corresponding secretary, membership chairman, ways and means chairman and was voted Outstanding Junior of the Club in 1963-64.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Rodney Patton, Cynthia Patton Gentry (Karl), Kevin Patton (Cindy), and Grant Patton; her grandchildren, Chris Gentry (Michelle), Reggie Gentry (Joanna), Rachel Gentry, Lukas Patton (Fallon), and Lauren Patton O'Meara (Joseph); her great-grandchildren, Carter, Kathryn, James and Grayson Gentry, Laila Rae Weaver, Naomi and Emmy Patton, Isla and Lili Pennington, and Robert and Nolan O'Meara.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Patton; her brothers, Bill and Jesse Dye; and her sisters, Olive Berry, Lois Montieth and Rachel Dye.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. She will be laid to rest at Quantico National Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Fredericksburg Baptist Church or to the American Parkinson's Disease Association.
