Phyllis Marie Foote's Obituary
Phyllis Marie Foote, 78, of Fredericksburg, VA passed away peacefully on
December 12, 2024.
Phyllis was born to the late Mary Stangler Sholhead and Nicholas Sholhead. She is survived by her beloved John Cooner, step-daughter Alicia Perko (David) and step-son James Barron Cooner, grandsons Michael (Jasmine), and Josh (Melissa) and great-grandsons Jaxson and Rowan (Josh), and Asher (Michael). Also surviving are siblings, Joanne Sholhead Tano (Thomas), John Sholhead (Wita), Lisa Lynn Sholhead Peterson and Kimberly Sholhead Crepea and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was a 1964 graduate of Springdale High School and attended the University of Michigan and the University of Cincinnati. She was a budget analyst for the U.S. Navy until her retirement.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, studied history, taught English as a second language, loved visiting museums, visiting family and going on adventures abroad and within the states. She supported many local charities and was an avid animal supporter.
Remember Phyllis for her humor, intelligence and her caring, giving heart.
A memorial service will be held in Fredericksburg, VA in the upcoming Summer at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with a luncheon to follow.
