Peter "Pete" Outcalt's Obituary
Peter “Pete” Outcalt passed away on February 14, 2026, in Culpeper, VA.
Born in Ohio and raised in Lancaster, Pete graduated from high school before answering the call to serve his country in the United States Air Force. He continued his career working for the Air Force as a pharmacy technician, a role he valued deeply for the opportunity it gave him to proudly serve his country.
Beyond his military service, Pete found joy in his hobbies. He worked as a projectionist, taking pride in bringing stories to life on the big screen. A passionate volunteer with the Virginia Bluebird Society, Pete devoted time and energy to conservation efforts, helping to protect and nurture bluebird populations.
Pete also had great enthusiasm for trains. A lifelong rail fan, he once served as an engineer at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park in Cass, West Virginia, where he delighted in the history, mechanics, and romance of the rails.
Pete was preceded in death by his beloved partner, James Allen Hall. He is survived by his niece, Kristin Outcalt, his nephew, John Outcalt, sister-in-law, Linda Wray, and her husband, Steve, as well as his devoted caretakers, Melissa and Nathan Cotton, whose compassion and support meant so much to him.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
