Peggy Cooke Menefee's Obituary
Peggy Cooke Menefee, 72, of Amissville died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Fauquier Hospital. She was born February 12, 1945 in Front Royal to the late Elmer and Hazel Putnam Cooke.
Peggy was a member of Amissville Baptist Church. She was an administrative assistant for what ultimately became Pearson and Pearson law firm for over 49 years until her health condition required her to step back.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James William Menefee; one daughter, Dana Hensley of Amissville; one sister, Doris Jenkins of Rixeyville; four grandchildren, Megan Sloan and her husband, Kevin of Fauquier, Justin Menefee of Culpeper, Steven and Mark Hensley, both of Amissville; three great grandchildren, Holly, Kylee and Luke Sloan; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Lynn Menefee; her brother, James Randolph Cooke; and one brother-in-law, Vernon Jenkins.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sandy Martin officiating.
Interment will follow in Amissville Baptist Church Cemetery.
