Peggy V. Kennedy Brown Smith's Obituary
Peggy V. Kennedy Brown Smith, 91, of Culpeper, VA passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her family. She was born August 26, 1925 to the late Jim and Carrie Hawkins Kennedy.
Peggy was a social butterfly with such a friendly and outgoing personality. Wherever she went she never met a stranger. Always with a smile on her face or laughing, you could find her dancing and listening to music; both were activities she loved. She also enjoyed riding Rickey’s four-wheeler. Above all her greatest love was her family.
Peggy is survived by her children; Elizabeth Brown McPeak, Pat Bache, “Sonny” Brown, and Kenneth H. Brown all of Culpeper, VA, Mary Brown Rakes and her husband Sidney of Reva, VA, and Rickey Brown of Warrenton, VA, her sister Roberta Suter, her grandchildren; Johnny Jenkins, Teresa Jenkins, Andy Jenkins, Donna Jenkins, Brenda Brumfield, Pamela Sue McPeak, Claude “Bubby” Tyler, Keith Tyler, Kevin Rakes, Donald Rakes, Tony Cooke, Carolyn Ball, Wendy Brown, Angel Brown, Travis Brown, and Dustin Brown, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband David Smith, two daughters; Margie Jenkins and Ellen Tyler, numerous brothers and sisters, and one grandchild Jennifer Brown.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike Culpeper, VA. Visitation will be an hour prior beginning at noon. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Charlottesville, VA, 22911.
