Peggy Denue's Obituary
Peggy Denue, 69, passed away peacefully at home on March 27, 2026. She was surrounded by her family and the pets she adored. Peggy was a beloved wife, mother, Gammie, and friend. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents.
Peggy was the devoted wife of Bob, her true love. From the moment they met, it was love at first sight, and together they shared 42 and a half beautiful years of marriage filled with laughter and unwavering love. They were each other’s best tennis partner, dance partner, and audience. They were always laughing together, and Peggy’s laugh was truly unforgettable—full of joy and contagious to everyone around her.
She was a proud and loving mother to Nikki and Genny and mother-in-law to Corey and Chris. Peggy was the very best Gammie to Cole, Brooks, and Tyler, and she fought so hard to meet her newest grandson, Everett. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them.
Peggy grew up surrounded by the love and energy of seven siblings, an upbringing that helped shape her vibrant personality. She was known for getting into trouble along the way, especially alongside her sister Cathleen and brother John, memories that became cherished stories over the years.
Known by all as the life of the party, Peggy had a way of lighting up every room she entered. She was a joy to be around, always bringing fun, laughter, and her unforgettable sense of humor. Peggy was famous for always having a package on the way and making sure everyone around her was taken care of (she believed in being prepared, often with extras of everything on hand). While her family lovingly joked about it, her generosity was unmatched, and she was always the first to give to anyone in need. She also had a gift for giving the best advice—honest, from the heart, and exactly what you needed to hear.
Peggy also showed incredible strength and courage during her 3½-year battle with cancer. She remained an inspiration to everyone around her, facing each day with grace, humor, and resilience.
She loved the beach and found so much happiness with her chair in the sand along with a drink and good book. She especially loved traveling with friends and family. Even after her diagnosis, she continued to embrace every opportunity to explore, make memories, and enjoy life to the fullest. She also cherished time spent with her friends and neighbors (the Pinkies, the Beavers, pickleball friends, tennis friends) and was always down for any kind of adventure or mischief.
She had a special place in her heart for her pets, who were truly the light of her life—her cats, Max and Homer, and her dog, Bella.
Peggy’s legacy is one of love, laughter, generosity, strength, and joy. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held on May 2nd, from 1-5pm, at the Fox Point Clubhouse (6120 Blackstone Blvd).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Peggy’s name to the SPCA.
