Patrick "Pat" Thomas Friason's Obituary
Patrick “Pat” Thomas Friason, of Rixeyville, VA, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Culpeper Medical Center. He was born January 19, 1954, to the late Lawrence Houston Friason and Myrtle Elzabeth Friason in Washington D.C.
Pat had a lifelong love affair with all things that moved, especially fast. In his younger years, his world evolved around hot rods, racing, and the unmistakable roar of an engine. He spent countless weekends in garages and on tracks, tuning engines and chasing speed.
As he grew older, his passion never waned; it simply shifted its focus. “Trains, planes, and automobiles” was not just a movie quote for Pat; it was a way of life. He became a dedicated train collector, traveling to shows and building a vast collection that brought him great joy and sparked conversations with fellow enthusiasts across the country.
Pat is survived by his wife, Catherine “Cathie” Mary Friason; sons, Lawrence Patrick Friason (Lindsay Marshall) and Joseph Michael Friason, Sr. and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Christopher Cardinale, Nicklas Patrick Friason, William Lee-Wayne Friason, Rylan Jax Friason, and Joseph Michael Friason, Jr.; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Pat is preceded in death by his siblings, Donna Friason, Mike Friason, and Shirley Smith.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 5 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, starting at 4 p.m.
