Patricia Darlene Payne's Obituary
Patricia Darlene Payne, 80, passed away on November 1, 2024, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She was born on July 21, 1944, and was known for her kind-hearted and loving nature.
Patricia devoted many years to working at Morganstern Pants Factory in Fredericksburg, VA, where she was respected and well-liked by her colleagues. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, and watching movies, which brought joy not only to her but also to those around her.
She was a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church in Spotsylvania County, where she participated actively in community and church events.
Patricia's family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her three sons, Kenneth Eugene Payne, Keith Eugene Payne, and Kurt Ernest Payne; a special son, Darryl Alexander Hyman; fourteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She also played a significant role in raising two of her grandchildren, Kylie Dawn Payne Williams and Carrie Lynn Payne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mamie Mills and John Smith; her brothers, Charles Smith and Gregory Smith; and her husband, Kenneth Eugene Payne.
To celebrate Patricia’s life, her family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
