Patricia June Mathews' Obituary
Patricia June "Patsy" Mathews, 68, of Prince George County passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at her home.
Patsy was known best for her loving spirit and friendly nature to everyone she knew. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She retired from Giant Food as a clerk after 32 years, and served as the women's ministry leader at her church.
Patsy leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Larry; a son, Coy Thomas Mathews and his wife, Christine F., of Spotsylvania County; a daughter, Tina Lynn Taylor and her husband, Ronald W., of Fauquier County; and seven grandchildren, Jesse, Brandon, Trevor, Seth, Sarah, Rachel and Luke. She also leaves behind two brothers, Raymond Stanley and his wife, Pat, of Vinton and Johnny Stanley and his wife, Mary, of Thornburg; and two sisters, Peggy Carter of Woodbridge and Kay Derr and her husband, Ron, of South Carolina.
Patsy was preceded in death by her first grandchild, Joshua I. Taylor.
Patsy's family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Found and Sons Funeral-Cremation Services, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg.
A service will be held in her honor at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Mount Comfort Cemetery, 6600 North Kings Highway, Alexandria.
