When I heard Patty passed, I was completely stunned. This is the same woman I have seen running around in Wal-Mart, possessing more energy than the Energizer Bunny! This could not be true, and to my heart’s dismay, unfortunately it is.
It’s so hard to share a “memory” of Patty because there are so many, even in the short time I’ve known her. I met Patty at church. She was always smiling & her bubbly personality was overflowing to the point of being contagious. She could brighten up the gloomiest of days and make it seem effortless in the process! I’m sure for her it was. She sat in the pew in front of me, since both of us possess the gift of gab, it wasn’t long before we became friends.
One of the things both of us loved was Polish Cookware (Pottery). I was so excited to finally find someone who loves it as much as I do. She told me of a few places I could find it & about all the sets she has collected over the years. Both of us have a deep love for our fur babies, mine being JoJo & hers being Bruno. We were like any other mother, pulling out our phones, to show each other the treasured pictures we captured of our little ones. Granted, JoJo & Bruno may not be “little” but that didn’t stop them from thinking they are, as they curl up on our laps to make themselves comfortable.
One of the many things I loved about Patty is she was so real. What you see is exactly what you got & what a treasure you found! She was warm, loving, compassionate, caring, thoughtful, fun & so much more! She would always make time for anyone who needed her, even if it was just to chat. She wasn’t judgmental, if anything, she would share her personal experiences to put you at ease.
Another memory I have is, her standing in church singing, with her hand raised, eyes closed & swaying as she sang her heart out to God. We always laughed about how both of us “make a joyful noise” and she would nod her head saying, “That’s right” smiling brilliantly, laughing & telling me wait til next Sunday!
I am truly blessed & thankful, I had the opportunity to know Patty. She was truly an amazing woman & this world has lost such a brilliant light in such a dark world. I miss her dearly & am grateful for the memories she gave me to treasure.
