Patricia Williams Clemons' Obituary
Patricia Ann Clemons peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, February 17, 2023, at her home in Fredericksburg, Virginia at the age of 77. She was born in Orange, Virginia on March 24, 1945, during the union of Benjamin “Bumpsy” Lewis and Mamie Thompson.
Patricia (known as Pat or Trisha) was born and raised in a true country home with a loving family that lived off the land. She graduated in 1963 after marrying Roland Judson Williams, Sr. of Culpeper, Virginia. During this union she was blessed with two sons Roland J. Williams, Jr and Allan C. Williams, Sr. In 2003, she married a longtime friend Houston Clemons. Houston and Patricia both joined the church family of Macedonia Baptist Church of Woodford, Virginia once they settled in Fredericksburg.
Patricia started her work life as a seamstress for the Aileen’s Clothing Factory in Culpeper, Virginia. After the end of her marriage with Roland, she moved to Washington, DC and started her Federal Career as a clerk-typist with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She then migrated to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in 1979 when it was formed. She served as a GS-13 Personnel Management Specialist until her retirement in 1995 with over 25 years of service.
Patricia had a magnetic personality with a caring heart which resulted in a wealth of life-long friendships. Her many talents were highly sought after; from window treatments and interior design to custom sewn fashion, embroidery, quilting, cooking, entertaining and finding the best places to wine and dine. But most of all she had a way about her that created laughter, smiles and joyous hearts in those around her. She really enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. She strived to touch the heart of every person that had the privilege to get to know and love her. She loved her family and friends wholeheartedly and really treasured her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Richard Everette Lewis, James Rufus Lewis, John L. Lewis and Charles Leo Lewis; six sisters, Martha Jane Weeks, Ruby Virginia Barkley, Ida Mae Johnson, Josie R. Lewis, Evelynn Irene Waugh and Thelma Johnson.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband of 20 years, Houston Clemons; two sons, Roland J. Williams, Jr. and Wife Sixta and Allan C. Williams, Sr. and Wife Celeste; one stepdaughter, Cynthia Hallman and husband Darryl; five grandsons, Allan C.
