Pamela Ann Allen's Obituary
Ms. Pamela Ann Allen, 76, of Fredericksburg, VA died Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Mary Washington Hospital with her family and friends by her side.
Born on October 17, 1947 in Jeannette, PA to Gladys and George McKissock. She was an only child with a zest for life.
Pamela was a doer and goer! She had recently joined the Elks and Knights of Pythias and enjoyed spending time with her friends and giving back to the community. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and cherished time with her family and was so proud of her children and grandchildren and brand-new great grandbaby.
Pamela spent her career caring for and teaching children. She started working in day care and soon after bought and successfully ran her own preschool, Brentwood Academy in Alexandria, VA for more than 30 years. She touched so many lives with her care and compassion and leaves a legacy of that behind.
Pamela is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Vaughn (Thomas) and Tammy Smoker; four grandchildren, Christopher, Melanie, Mahaley, and Holden; and great-granddaughter, Cordelia.
A memorial service to celebrate Pamela’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2024 at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 905 Princess Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
As a two-time survivor of breast and lung cancer we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation at give.bcrf.org
