Owen Dacosta Phillps' Obituary
Owen Phillips, 71, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 in Stafford, VA after a long battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Clive and Muriel Phillips, brothers Ronald and Thelbert White, all of Barbados, West Indies in the Caribbean.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bermadine Phillips of Stafford, VA, brother, Patterson Phillips, nephew Valdez Clarke, and cousin Avonda Hinks all of Barbados along with many cousins, a son Johaan Phillips of Alexandria, daughter J’Nai (Vincent) Kessinger, stepsons, Mar Goldstone of Georgia, and Marshall Christian (Sharleen) of Stafford, VA and a host of brother and sisters-in-law and their families and tons of good friends.
Owen finished his education at Georgetown University in Washington, DC in 1980 as an international student receiving a bachelor’s degree in Labor Relations, and continued his work career in the US Government working in the USA and also traveling abroad living in West Africa and Georgetown Guyana at US Embassies with his family. Life was good!
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg.
