Oscar Bevins Howington's Obituary
Oscar Bevins Howington, 86, of Rixeyville, VA passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born November 3, 1939 to the late William and Lula Howington.
Oscar will be remembered as a devoted outdoorsman who found great joy in fishing and hunting. Oscar was a proud member of the Castleton Fire Department, where he served his community with dedication and commitment. His love for the outdoors and his willingness to help others will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Oscar is survived by his loving wife, Virgina Curley Howington; children, Buddy Lee Howington, Darlene Howington Payne (David), Sheri Howington Fincham, John William Howington (Jacqui) and JB Fincham; grandchildren, Brandon Howington, Cory Howington (Dana), Megan Catron, Jared Payne (Lizzie), Erin Fincham (Ryan) and Ryan Howington (Brittany); great grandchildren, Weston Howington, Haley Howington, Rylee Catron, Brentley Catron, and Sawyer Payne and a host of additional family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Oscar was preceded in death by twelve siblings.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 1 p.m. at The Journey Church, 14383 Hazel River Church Rd, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Kevin Dawson officiating.
