Orelia Alice Bawkey Berry's Obituary
Orelia Alice Bawkey Berry, 97, of Amissville passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Oak Springs of Warrenton. She was born January 3, 1917 in Rixeyville to the late William Claude and Fannie Cobb Bawkey.
Mrs. Berry was a member of Gourdvine Baptist Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and working with people who needed help.
She is survived by three children, Kay Orelia Crookshanks of Amissville, Connie Sue Berry of Amissville and Marsha Wendelin Butterfield and her husband, John of Fairfax; one brother, James Bawkey and his wife, Shirley of Rixeyville; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Edward Berry, Sr.; four children, Roy Edward Berry, Jr., Joan Darnell Woodward, Don Allen Berry and Gordon MacRay Berry; and six siblings, Lucy Shaw, William Adolph Bawkey, Chrismon Bawkey, Dorothy Dodson, Ennis Bawkey and John Bawkey.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Rev. Joe Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Amissville Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 147, Amissville, VA 20106 &/or Gourdvine Baptist Church, 7103 Eggbornsville Rd., Rixeyville, VA 22737.
