Onofrio Fred "Sonny" Cinetti's Obituary
Onofrio Fred (Sonny) Cinetti peacefully passed away on September 19, 2018 in Fredericksburg, VA.
He is survived by his children, Toni Ann Cinetti, Brian Cinetti, Todd Esposito, Julie Lenser and Stephen Siques. He was a loving grandfather to Marissa and Joseph Butler, Michael Porcelli, Gina Porcelli, Ron Lenser, Aden Siques and Liam Siques. He doted on his beloved dog, Angie.
Sonny, born April 21, 1934 in Far Rockaway, New York, was the eldest child of Anna and Ciro Cinetti. Upon graduation from Far Rockaway High School, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force where he fulfilled his dream of flying and cemented his lifelong love of planes.
Upon being honorably discharged from the Air Force, Sonny returned to Far Rockaway and worked as an appliance repair man (he could fix anything). Within the next few years he married Jennie Notarnicola, moved to Oceanside, New York, started a family and was working for the Telephone Company as a switchman. Sonny was a proud member of the Sons of Italy and the Telephone Company Pioneer Club.
One of his main passions was gardening. He could look at a plant and it would bloom. The greatest joy in his life were his grandchildren. Sonny never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He lived each moment to the fullest. He was generous to a fault, told the same jokes for years and was loved more than he could imagine.
A memorial service will be held for Sonny at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2018 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg.
